Mac M1 lag

Hello, me and my friend recently got into later stages of hard mode (killed mechs). Im on windows and hes on a Mac M1. and recently hes been starting to lag like crazy (down to 20fps) during movement and fights, is this normal? we had a full play through before on version 1.4 and he had zero issues. is this an issue with the newer versions of the game?

I don't know if you've tried these yet, but here are some settings you can tweak to reduce lag:

- Turn off Waves Quality, Heat Distortion, Storm Effects, and Wind Effects.
- Retro lighting is the fastest lighting setting
- set frame skip to ON (this essentially means the game will skip as many frames as it need to to run in real time)
- set graphics to low

i would also suggest opening activity monitor (the Mac equivalent of task manager) and closing any applications eating up your CPU
