Pygmy Necklace or Summoner Emblem for Moon Lord fight?

I have Celestial Shell, Ankh Shield, Charm of Myths, Papyrus Scarab and I wonder if the Pygmy Necklace (more minions/longer stardust dragon) or the Summoner Emblem (more minion damage) is to be prefered? Transportation method is UFO mount, armour is spooky, also use the solar pillar weapons, The Eye of Cthulhu yoyo and vampire knives apart from the stardust dragon.

What do you prefer?
10 Normal men or 9 A bit more muscular men.
For me the answer is always number before quality, the dragon beeing bigger there is more chance for him to multi hit moonlord parts.\
But hey, that is my opinion.

besides dragon gets stronger as it gets bigger and with just the right setup can cap pretty high

But how much stronger does it get? 9 minions that are 15% stronger is 9*1.15 = 10.35 which implies the extra power more than compensates for the lack of a tenth minion. I suspect the actual math may be more complicated than that, however.

Tip: If you put the emblem on, then summon your dragon, take off the emblem and put on the pygmy necklace, your dragon will still have the effect of the summoner emblem.

Good point. I forgot about that...

You could even stack an Avenger Emblem as well, and replace that with a different item in the process of summoning the dragon.

Ui thanks for that tip :) Though the last segment doesn't have the 15% then righ? Which doesn't matter

The actual answer to this is to use both and get rid of that Ankh Shield. You don't need it at all by endgame Terraria, but you especially don't need it during the Moon Lord fight.

Also be aware that you can equip both a Necromantic Scroll and a Papyrus Scarab at the same time, so you should do that if you can too.

You can do both. Papyrus Scarab, Necromantic Scroll, and Hercules Beetle can all be used at the same time.
