NPC Housing - Too Big of a Room?
Is it possible to have a room too large to be considered a proper house for an NPC? I'm building a Church and the Altar room is quite sized but I can't get it to say 'This housing is suitable' [Yes there is appropriate furniture, it just say 'Not Valid Housing']

Could you post a screenshot for it? I'd like to take a look to see the problem.

From the picture I can't see anything wrong. It has chairs, lights, and a workbench. There isn't a max size for a home as far as I know so the only thing I can think of is if there is curruption/crimson nearby.

Also do you want the main thing to be valid or the part where the glass furnace is? (Can't remember the name but I know it has glass in the name.)

The area above, there isn't any Crimson lurking near my home. I even held some plain glass and jumped around the church looking for any possible gaps in the walling. Also it's called a Glass Kiln.

Ok then in that case I can't really think of anything, sorry.

I just don't want monster spawning in the Altar Room

A very expensive but probably will work way would to be to buy a ton of actuators and fill the entire room with them. Then replace all the background walls with thier normal blocks. Then you can toggle them all. I think then it would count as a real block meaning no monsters spawn there but you can still walk around there. PS I haven't tried this so it may not work.

From the wiki "Including the frame (floor, side walls, and ceiling), a House must have at least 60 total tiles, but less than 750."

So long as you have the space properly walled monsters shouldnt spawn inside it. That said in hardmode you have enemies that can move through solid blocks. So a wraith can spawn off screen and move through the structure.

But standard monsters dont spawn in a room with player placed wall.
Also yes the room seems far too large to be deemed valid housing.
