There is legit no more reason to mine the Meteor

Why nerf the Meteor to spawn after the Brain/Eater when Crim/Shadow scale armor is better than Meteor armor
I guess you could say it's for a mage but at that point Jungle armor would be a better option for a Mage
Before you would get Meteor to defeat the Brain/Eater so you can get their armor and the pick
Legit the only reason to get it now is for the Meteor Hamaxe but you already got the Crim/Cor pick at this point so you're better off going down to Hell to mine Hellstone

Well if you are min/maxing. Yes there isn't a point. But if you want to casually play without rushing through the game. Then there is a point to mine the meteor.

I guess meteor shot is nice to have and you just got a gun from corruption. Otherwise, mining meteor is easier if you have access to it. There not much stopping you from just going straight to the jungle or mining hellstone though either. Its also not impossible to farm bones in some dungeons from the 1 or so rooms you have access to with Skeletron alive.

Edit: Yeah I forgot the starcannon was made out of meteorite.

Meteor can be placed in some biomes to farm the keys for the dungeon thats the only reason to mine it. the minishark is 10 times better if u upgrade it for 11 gold

Alot of people get meteor armor before fighting EoC in Master Mode, I think it's due to the fact that it allows the space gun, a meteor weapon, to fire infinitely, allowing some bosses to be easier than others.

also technically it could be the first armor you obtain, you don't have to kill the BoC/EoW at all, just break one heart/orb and then Meteors can fall.

Meteor is better than jungle actually, zero mana space gun conserves mana, flat damage bonus is better than crit cahnce since it is more sustained and is directly added to your damage unlike the crit that is calculated after armor's damage reduction. +60 mana is nice tho. But in the end, a diamond wizard set with meteor leggings does both those armor sets combined at the expense of defense

The only reason you would get the space gun is for WoF but at that point the Bee's knees or Beenades are better choices

Meteor doesn't spawn until you Kill BoC or EoW blame 1.4 for this change

Eh. I think the point he/she is getting at is that for those of us that want to optimize our play-through, it's not really gonna serve much of a purpose. For the typical player that just progresses based on what they find and doesn't seek specific stuff out, it'll have it's purpose.

tbh this is the real dealbreaker for me. killing enemies + trying not to be on fire + mining with a pickaxe for something slightly less good than what I unlocked to unlock it.. doesn't seem worth the effort.
