eye of cthulhu in the background?

does the eye flying around in the back ground at night represent the boss?
does it have any meaning?

you sure? since i can imagine the mountains look far away, i'd look like it would be too large for it to be a regular demon eye

Its probably a demon eye and just some background details, in crimson biomes you can sometimes see the flyers (cimera?) in the background too.

I don't think it means anything. I saw it flying around, but the eye of Cthulhu didn't spawn for many days.

It might very well be the Eye of Cthulhu in the distance. I don't think it means anything, though, just a background detail. Maybe an Easter egg for new players, like seeing a boss you'll fight later but can't reach now.
