World is Large on Master mode
i don't know a solution to this problem, but i know a workaround that may work as long as all the players have a perfect game speed/framerate of 60...
host a server in the server client instead, and change the npcstream config to 0 (disable server npc stream, the server will just says where the npc did spawn, the clients make the movments instead since the mobs follow simple math rules (no random stuff), if all players are running at the same game speed it will be synced almost 98% of the time properly.
its not the ideal solution because if you game frezze for 2 seconds, all the mobs will be 2 seconds behind in u game instead of being "Streamed" in the correct proper position but..... its definetly better than the mess you guys describe.
to do this go to the game folder, open the serverconfig.txt change the npcstream setting, and click on, startterrariaserver.bat open you world and the game will try to not npc stream to the clients, if all players run the game at 60 fps it may make a more playable experience... (but still not ideal)
also make sure to remove the ##### from the #npcstream=60, the # means the server ignore that command... so put it like >> npcstream=0
the server will just teleport the enemy if he hits you on the server then no more corrections then.
feel free to try more slower npc stream options too but i would recommend trying with it disabled first to see if it feels better.... then if its all working well maybe try a npc stream of 10 seconds or so so it don't try to correct desync so frequent....
Doesn't change the fact that mastermode is a total ♥♥♥♥♥ tho
Enemies will go through periods of intermittent (but incredibly annoying) rubberbanding and teleporting around and all over the place, behavior reported by every player on the server.
Perhaps just as annoying, we've encountered situations where time will reverse by 2 hours or more as well. As an example, we were waiting for a boss spawn and someone with a gold watch was counting down--but also, you could see the sun revert back in time as well, but suddenly the whole server "reverted" back 2+ hours at the same time for each player. The players remained where they were, but the whole time just reverted back. This seems to be common around the same time we experience teleporting mobs.
There must be a perfect npcstream value that stops teleporting enemies and also gives the players some headroom if they ever drop below 60 fps (like when changing biomes for the first time (since game startup) or during fast paced master mode boss fights. If anyone has found the perfect value please explain it here! Also, which is better at preventing teleporting enemies, Hamachi or server client (terrariaserver.exe)?
Hamachi has worked wonders for me, but the host might have some slight fps issues. Not sure how to fix that sadly
