144hz makes the game weird
I have this problem where the game on 144hz feels a little choppy and there's some screen tearing, i've turned frame skip off and i've put on vsync on nvidia settings for the game. As well as this is also the flickering of text and items. Any fix?

The game is designed to run on 60 fps it's broken on anything higher.

So would i use frame skip or just limit the fps on nvidia?

If you have fps issues, just update your graphic drivers.

Run 60hz natively, 144hz is weird for many games

I managed to make it smooth again, in the game settings disable Frame Skip, then in your graphics settings force maximum fresh rate to your monitor 144fps/hz ? and turn VSync On, enjoy smooth 144 fps.

Or you can fiddle with screen settings in the driver panel to make the game run at 144fps
I never tried it in terraria and i have 144 hz monitor too

You can try and make it run at 144Hz like I did but you'll notice eventually several parts of the game are broken. Some animations are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and the crafting menu is stupidly fast when scrolling. Just use V-sync and play at 60 as painful as that can be. It really isn't noticeable in a pixelated game like Terraria. You only notice it in backgrounds

you did it wrong... I play on 1440p 144hz right now, Just use VSync + 144 fps combination, my crafting menu speed is same as at 60 fps. I had ugly tearing and motion sickness without VSync On

Rather than mess with all that I usually just set frame skip to subtle and play.

Works perfectly for me. Didn't have to change anything.

Just run it on 60 I play on 144 and also hate when games look choppy but you get used to it, also turn off v-sync in nvidia and low latency mode turn on.

Hey, thank you. I just turned VSYNC ON in my AMD settings and turned Frame Skip OFF in Terraria. Now I'm getting 144 FPS on a 144hz monitor. And the game is somehow twice the speed that it was before lol
