1.4 no meteorite

I have been trying for a couple in game days now to get a meteor to fall but my crimson hearts will not make them fall and I don't know if the spawn method has changed. could anyone help me out?

SOLUTION: You need to first kill the eater of worlds, after hes dead they will begin to spawn. I had the same issue.

It wasnt ever needed in the first place, outside of cheesing the boss.

Things have changed. You have to beat the boss for corruption or crimson.

Turns out eater of worlds needs to be defeated before metorites can drop now. Its not that hard tho. Just build a semi big arena towards the ground and then spam spiky balls, now all you have to do is dodge the heads of the worm and its easy. Me too, but i have a Crimson world, and just fallen after i kill the Brain of Cthulhu

if that is so then that makes meteors a waste, because if you kill brain of cthulu you can already obtain hellstone with the pickaxe you get from it, so removing meteorites would be more irregular but still not make us non-efficient
