How to make mobs spawned by statues give loot.

I need help I defeated skeletron so I could get the mechanic and use statues but I don't get anything from it like I can't get feathers from harpys, is it supposed to do this?

Yes you cant get loot from certain statues. Coins also never drop.

There are a very few statues that give you items,so keep that in mind

thanks you guys i've just kept murdering harpys i have killed 1273 and got none do i have to be in expert mode?

statues have their loot drop rate lowered, it is better to go to a floating land and kill harpys ther or to build a skybridge. they will drop them like crazy.

Loot is dropped from mobs if you have hit them with one of your items. Mobs killed by traps do not drop anything. The statue spawned mobs also do have reduced drop rates for the rarer items.
