Howto kill npc's

I know that you have to use rotten eggs but i am just wondering if there is another way?
Please do not insult me but i am just too lazy to get rotten eggs so yeah.

You can set traps in your house, or just let a bunch of enemies in your house.
I guess it requires expert mode enemies to actually kill NPCs, though.

you can drown them, drop them in lava or drop lava on them, get a clothier voodoo doll from the dungeon equip it and kill him or traps.

i also forgot about sand and burying them.

sand is highly uneffective because i tried it and i did 50 damage t ohim in ten minutes
