OK, this works pretty much the same way normal Terraria does, you join a game or host one with TModLoader (with someone else with TModLoader). The host can pick whichever mods they want and however many mods they want, because those mods will be downloaded and enabled to those who join automatically.

When I tried to host one for me and my friends, I did the ip 127.0.0.1 (bc people say thats the ip for the host) and it just says "Found Server" and its stuck there forever

Now, the Ip's that you use and that you give other people always differ. But the easiest way is for the host to go onto IPchicken.com and copy that ip it tells you, and give it to you're friends.

Easy way to explain is internal IP (LAN) is different from external IP (WAN), now OP can see which IP fit which client connect to the server needed.

Static IP is the best way to host a server but if you dynamic IP then you need dns host or mask IP from free which u can google it.

using 127.0.0.1 is the host number for any server therefore when you say you want to join someone with that number it automatically assumes you are the host which confuses the game because "you are trying to join yourself?"

thats what the computer thinks.

i know i am very late, but there is an application called logmein hamachi, it connects to your friend's pc and shows your ip. It works on terraria 100% cos i have tried it out and thats how i could play with my friend
