Fastest to get hook.

I decided to start all over again but it has been a long time since I last played and a lot of stuff changed.
Which grappling hook is the fastest to get?
Walking around after playing so much in endgame feels like being crippled without a grappling hook....

Pretty sure its the grappling hook or the slime hook

Hmmm... the slime hook needs either a random event to occur or me to get gold/platinum bars with ruby ans a lot of slime.
The regular grappling hook needs a hook and chain.

Guess it'll be a bit grindy.
I kinda hoped there is a hook that just need some yolo intrusion to the jungle or another biome to grab a couple of materials like the yoyo named Amazon.

you can get some weak gens like amethyst and topaz get 15-20 of then and make a gem hook can be kinda hard somenthimes but somentimes its very easy to get

It's not like gameplay is bad without hooks. It is that grappling hooks are best thing ever invented in video games.

I only craft gem ones if i'm lucky enough to hit a gem field very early, otherwise i always go for the ivy whip (jungle, 3 vines and 12 jungle spores), which is by far better and can be kept until late hardmode.

I find Grappling Hook to be easiest to get. You can even buy it from the Goblin Tinkerer if you're desparate.
(Also, Grappling Hooks sell REALLY well - 40 silver!)
I find Slime Hook to be best in terms of availiability (summon him manually, I've only ever had him spawn once naturally, and that was while I was on my skybridge fighting the final boss :P).
Once you get to Hardmode, the Biome Hooks are pretty amazing
