Fast way to remove minecart tracks?

Is there a faster way to remove tracks than using the pickaxe? I'm in early game with a silver pickaxe and it's a huge pain to remove tracks block by block (each block takes 3 hits), especially if i have to remove a lot.

Also the track pieces that i removed fall down (the track is a distance above ground) unless i'm really close, so i have to go back on foot and collect everything. So the whole process of removing the tracks and collecting them would take a long time. It would be a big help if there's a faster method.

The faster method is called a faster pickaxe.

Go fishing with a half-decent rod and some half-decent bait (Fisher of Souls + Enchanted Nightcrawler are a good easy-mode combo) Fish until you get a shark pickaxe. That pickaxe has 100% pickaxe power and will strike down the rails in one blow.

What I did for removing tracks is being right next to them in a cart to be able to pick them up. Hopes this helps!

Thanks, both of you. A faster pickaxe it is then. The shark pickaxe sounds like a fun item to get, fishing will be a nice change from mining ore to get materials for a better pickaxe.

Yeah, theres also a chance of getting a sword and axe fish versions also.

Just an FYI, the enchanted nightcrawler is a worm and a fallen star mashed together.
