What size world do you play on and why?
What world size does everyone play on and why? I see lots of different opinions on world sizes and was curious to what world size people play on and their reason for it.

I tend to play on medium worlds mostly, but I do go large from time to time. I like medium because it doesn't feel too large, but not too small either. (decent world generation on medium imo) I hate having to take 5mins to reach one side of the world, although large is awesome for building and more loot/resources.

So what's your choice?

Large, because on Small I can't even make a proper house without it hitting the space layer and everything going all "Zero-Gravity".

Small solo 100%. Small for 2-3 players. Large for anything else. I hate walking the 10 minutes to the ocean and Normally make a new char for each world I play.

I typically make Medium Worlds. In Small Worlds, if I'm unlucky, the surface is very close to Space and Wyverns attack me whenever I'm at the surface. On the plus side, it is very easy to reach the underworld, so the game goes MUCH FASTER. Still, Pyramids are rare in Small Worlds and there are fewer Floating Islands.
Large Worlds are just plain big; I don't want to have a huge world for a solo run; also, it would take forever to reach the Underworld and the Oceans.

Well, my initial main worlds are Large, cause I want all the things possible. But I also make lots of other worlds of varying sizes for different needs. I also always have a "Storage" world, and use small cause it initally is just to satiate my need to hoard everything. However towards end game, it kind of became easier to just use that world.

Small for farming worlds, if I ever need lots of wood, or need extra balloons or something.

Medium on most other worlds.

Large on any modded world.

I hate small worlds. It's like a small house. Large just perfect for me but it still not large enough. I wish tedit could expand the map.

The only proper reason I can imagine most of the notable changes made to worlds by the size options would need to exist is memory-related. If your computer can handle moderately resource-consuming games, then the large world provides the most polished experience overall in my opinion. I only recommend using the small or medium options if the large one has shown issues when used on your computer personally, but whatever, that's just me.

I like large worlds because you can explore them over and over and still find things in them that surprise you

It very much feels, to me, that the large world is what the game is intended to be played with, it seems like smaller world sizes are only a thing as a way for players to counteract memory-related issues if they have a lower end PC, which is why I would say use large unless your PC can't run it properly.
