best way to kill hallowed mimic?

i have full adamantite armor so defense is not really a problem

Don't fight it on enclosed and dimly lit places.

My strategy is fool-proof.

1. Put a chest in a box big enough to completely surround it, with no air spots.
2. Drop one bucket of lava inside.
3. Put the Key of Light inside.
4. Wait for it to die, as it has a good amount.
5. Wait.
6. Panic, as you realize the box cannot contain it.
7. Run to the nurse as you are almost dead.
8. Shoot at it with a Clockwork Assault Rifle until it dies, or you die.

If YOU die, repeat the steps above, starting at 7.

If IT dies, congratulations, you have done the best way to kill Hallowed Mimics.

1. Mini-Arena
2. Clockwork Assault Rifle (Ranged)
3. ForstBrand (Melee)
4. Golden Shower & Water Bolt (Mage

No, seriously, big room, grapple yourself somwhere mid-air where the mimic can only reach you by jumping and put some lava on the ground. Ranged/magic weapons and this should be fine.
@Rasputin, mimic will jump out of a box.

The most valuble thing while fighting the thougher mimics is mobility, the lightning boots are very helpful in combatting it.

You should never fight a larger mimic head on, when doing so i (rarely but it still happens) in solar armour i was killed.

It has a distinctive pattern where it will either jump high up and slam down or close up to reflect projectiles after 3 jumps, a simple row of 2-3 platforms will make the fight easier to take care of it.

So I'm currently farming souls of light to make light keys so I can battle mimics easier above ground and then hoping to get the bow to kill the Destroyer because I CANNOT KILL THEM

Just beware of their hopping and you are done.
