I'll look into it when I have a slight motivation to play.
"I'm still in the tutorial part of the game, haven't defeated a single boss, and am already saying the game is boring."
Yes, the early game is slow. However, turning up the difficulty at that point won't make the game any more fun, just more frustratingly boring. The majority of the game's fun content is in Hard mode, which is a progression thing, not a setting. Trust me, you'll know when you get to it.
This game gets amazingly fun once you get to the later parts, but you have to get through some rather boring grinding and slow as hell mining to get there.
At the current state of the game, I'd basically say that everything before the WoF is pretty much a long tutorial teaching you about the different biomes and game mechanics. Once you beat the WoF, is when everything really opens up. It gets both easier and harder at the same time - you get the freedom to easily move around the world, progressing pretty much however you like, but the individual parts of the game, the boss' mechanics, your expected skill level and overall capabilities, etc. get harder.
I wouldn't recommend switching to expert mode if you're finding the game boring because it takes too long to be able to do anything, because it'll simply make that feeling even greater in the early game, particularly if you don't actually have any real experience with the game. (which trust me, you don't, if you haven't gotten to hard mode, let alone the celestial events.)
i agree
So I just need to live through the slow pace in the early game until I could go to the Hard mode which where the game shines? Fair enough, I'll try to continue playing if I could.
Thanks for everyone here who tried to conviced me.
Cheers.
Besides, I don't want to my waste my money on games I barely touched.
Easy ways to make it more fun:
1.Limit yourself to a certain 'class'. Basically, only use one damage type. Starting with Ranged or Magic is easiest in my opinion.
2. Do 'challenges'. Don't go to the surface until Hardmode, get every item, etc.
Harder ways to make it more fun:
1. Mods. Can be kinda complicated to install, but really fun. Thorium is my favorite.
2. Increase the Difficulty. Try playing on Hard-Core, where dieing is permanent, and deletes the character. Fun if you like challenges.
