Crystal Serpent help?..

I've been fishing in the underground Hallow for about 6 hours now and still haven't gotten a Crystal Serpent. My fishing spot is pretty big so I don't know if that's the problem.
I'm just really not sure what to do here, it never 'drops' for me. :T

EDIT: I'm aslo using the Sitting Duck's Fishing Pole and Journeyman Bait (I ran out of master bait after all the bass ate it..)

I swear I remember there being a 'help' discussions section or something but I forgot how to get to it if there is one..

you get it in the above ground hallow, or atleast thats how i got it.

I heard that it was undergroudn and surce, I've seen people get it underground before. I also don't have any water up there on the surface.

try transporting some to the surface using a bucket or i can just give you a spare one i have

Get a bucket and make a lake on the surface.

I might just have to do that, it will take a LONG time but It would probably, and hopefully, work. Maybe if I make some pipes... Yeah! I'll try that.

Crystal Serpent... isn't that a drop from Hallowed Mimics?

I do know there is a fishable weapon from the Hallow that's INSANELY rare.

Checklist:
- Pray to the RNG god high above. Always helps
- Your lake is pretty large
- Check the Terraria Wiki on various lake requirements
- No junk should be caught - if it is, make your lake larger
- Fishing Potion
- More patience than most people alive.

It's caught in the surface or underground hallowed. so use a depth meter to make sure you aren't in cavern layer. make sure there isn't crimson/corruption nearby as they cancle the effect of hallowed. make sure the lake is at least 300 blocks so 15x20 or larger is a good size. if you want to quickly fill a lake dig a hole and then above it build this. A = air, B = block.

now have 1 water bucket in your inventory and no empty buckets then hold click on the top right air block or top left. this will fill the hole quite quickly.

yes sonar does save bait however if you manage to get a good source of bait just pulling in everything is faster. so sonar is good for bait efficiency but not time.

Also, if you use the fishing potions, they can be used to tell you what's on the end of your line so you don't waste bait on things you don't want.

Yeah, I have a pretty large lake on the surface now, just took water from a huge cavern layer lake and used pipes to move a tiny bit of it to the surface, but I still don't think it's enough! I'm probably going to take 3 stacks of bombs and just make the lake much, much, MUCH bigger. I also ran out of bait... so, I now have to farm for worms to use for enchant crawlers

I'm probably going to take 3 stacks of bombs and just make the lake much, much, MUCH bigger. I also ran out of bait... so, I now have to farm for worms to use for enchant crawlers

If you'd like, I can trade you a stack of bait for something, and I can stop in and fill up the hole you make for your lake

There's a glitch that lets you reel out several fishing pole thingys at the same time. Just get a stack of stuff, turn on autopause, and send out your fishing pole. then open your inventory and drop one thing out of the stack of stuff. (Using right-click) Then just repeat... I think it only takes 1 bait at most (but don't quote me on that). I mean, only do this if you wanna exploit this glitch, it isn't a hack.
