REQ: The Grand Design change it a little? Please?
I love the Grand Design. It's really nice being able to see wires by just having it in the inventory. But the ruler functionality can be a pain sometimes. Actually most of the time it's a pain.

So, could you change it so that when we access it's settings, via right click, there is also a check box or toggle button, similar to the info items under the map, but in the tools right click UI? It'd allow us to activate/deactivate the Ruler functionality.

I personally like to harvest all wire the game plants as I'm exploring. Saves me the cost of buying some wire later when I'm connecting Teleporters or Traps. Yes, I know by mid late game making money to buy wire is relatively easy. Easier in fact than dismantling naturally placed wire for repurposing. But it's some what of a pain having that ruler out when using it for harvesting.

By the time you get the Mechanic, you will have enough money to buy as much money as you could possibly want for wire. The extra, I dunno, hundred pieces scattered across the world won't be very useful. One Slime Rain, and you get like 12 gold.

These buttons already exist, along the left side of the screen, between the hotbar and the crafting menu.

Yep, click it and forget it. Stays off even if you reload the game.

Althought, if there is one thing I would like to change about the grand design, it would be to add the mechanical ruler as a part; it already has its own button, and it collaborates with the ruler. I know I can just carry it around as a separate item, but inventory space is a very precious commodity.

Thank you darth. That is exactly what I was hoping for. I'm blind as a bat lol.

Getting a stack of 999 wire doesn't take too long when stripping down traps. Those wire stacks tend to go away fast if you are miring a network across a portion of a large world.
Each stack is worth almost a half platinum. I am at stack 3 or 4 of my recreation of Noah's flood.

Of course, that doesn't always happen (not everyone plans this big, small, whatever).

Yeah I just finished running wire from my home to an outpost in my jungle, on a large world. It's a long way from home. Took over 1.5 plat for that 1 set of teleporters. But the Jungle has to many goodies. Your inventory fills up fast when exploring there. i still haven't found the liz temple or beaten Plantera yet. I get tired of nit-picking through loot to determine what to throw away so I can delay my return to base to store/sell my take. So I decided to run the wire for teleporting. It's working out really well so far. Pretty sure it's already paid for itself. Now I can also loot wiring without too much hassle as well. God this game is amazing. I've had it since forever and a day. But I still love to play it.
