Squire Slime on Zenith/DDU

Has anyone managed to get him?
I've tried throwing both copper shortswords and helmets on green, blue, yellow, red slimes and it just won't convert.
Is there some unmentioned criteria?

I just tested throwing a copper shortsword onto a yellow slime, and it turned into the squire slime. Zenith seed. If it makes a difference, I grabbed the item from my inventory and right clicked to drop it rather than using a keybind.

Found the issue. It doesn't work in multiplayer worlds.

actually, it does. i made squire slimes in my friend's worlds.

I wonder if it could be as simple as lag making it look like the slime is where you drop the item, when it really isn't.

The slime was stuck up against a wall, I had the Royal Gel equipped so I was literally right up against it, no matter how close I was it just wouldn't work despite trying dozens of times.
Then I loaded the server up in singleplayer and the first slime I encountered got converted right away. Make what you want with that.

yep I got him you have to make sure to house the pet slimies quickly cause if not they dissapear.
