I'm bad at videogames but really want that sanguine staff. Cheese strat of hiding in a box doesn't work anymore, as the blood goes through the box.

Any other cheesy way to deal with him?

I would just fight him as it comes. I've never had to make a "cheese tactic arena" for anything really.
