Anyway, I'm at about 450 Platinum Coins, at the moment. My mission is to fill this vault:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=296535488
I think it stores something like 950 Platinum Coins, currently got "only" 300 or 400 in there. (can't remember if that picture is after I stuck 400 in there, or when it was 300) People ask me why I bother, but... why? Fun, addiction, and I like to amass it all to see it all. :D Does anyone else have similar vaults?
EDIT:
And now it's 509 PC. xD Halfway to my target.
It's entirely possible to get a huge wad of cash. There are tons of ways to earn money, some of which are very good. There are also plenty of advantages. The game is just challenging at times. What would be the point if it were all a cakewalk? That's the way I see it anyways.
Lol. Figured someone would start saying stuff like that. AFK farming is "fair"; it uses aspects of the game itself. Well, not going through this again; it was argued to death elsewhere. -.- Just baffles me. lol You're welcome to your opinion, of course. I agree with the cheats thing... seriously not my cup of tea. >.<
Anyway, yeah, I did the mechanical boss thing a lot as well. (destroyer, as he is the fastest at a few seconds, I find)
(whiney wall of text over and out)
It's not all about gear, though. Actual skill is involved in this game. Planning, tactics, buidling, specific gear chosen, etc.
Are you sure you're not on a Hardcore character? 'cause y'know, that's suppose to be hard. :P
You may just need to assess your strategy and gear chosen. Acquire better stuff. If you're talking about end-game stuff, then obviously that's meant to be a challenge.
Anyway the point of that paragraph is that although I did get stuck at tough points a few times (lord the frustration of not being able to beat the twins until I found out about the gravitation potion strategy) I eventually got past them, I like a challenge but I also like for the challenge to be optional, and I know you could just say "lol then stay in easymode you wuss", but... uh, I don't know, I wanted the fancy weapons and the other things, I just hate when the game shoves things down my throat (like when it forces you to fight a boss until you finally succeed... over time I developed the strategy of dumping all my money in a chest when the boss was announced and letting them give me the business).
I have no idea why I've wandered so far off the original topic just to let the world know that I hate progress (which is heavily generalized, but true for Terraria it seems)
Seperate Pre-Hardmode and Harmode (this is why I added it to my guide; it adds a relaxing atmosphere in which to build, should one choose it) as I did which completely solves any issue of not being able to build/farm/chat in (mostly) peace.
There is no such thing as easy mode. There is Pre-Hardmode, Hardmode, and post-Plantera, softcore, mediumcore, and hardcore. So I would ignore those that say that anyway. xD You get nothing for playing on mediumcore and hardcore, so I never bother with them and don't see the point, besides a few minutes of messing about. (I get some people love it, but it just ain't my thing)
The challenge is optional. There are plenty of cheats, if the game is ultimately too hard for you. There's also mods you could use.. maybe there's one that makes the game easier?
The game doesn't force you to fight a boss until you succeed, to my knowledge. The mechnical bosses show up once, and that's it. It's meant to be hardmode, remember, so obviously there's going to be hard things, like events, bosses, tough mobs, etc. Maybe just stick with pre-hardmode? Sounds like a logical fix to your issue.
You could also get a friend to help. I find this game great for co-op, although I prefer to do new things solo, I find it helpful when helping/joining others.
Nice! You musta run them a LOT. I find I get diddly squat from those.
Nice, how did you get that? Just 152 hours? I've got over 600 hours and not even half that amount. 'o.O
I would work on getting more, but decided to return to Skyrim to bash a few heads in.
