Terra Blade obtainable way to early

The Terra blade is obtainable way to early which takes away the challenge of most bosses, If you actively fight a lot during a solar eclipse you can get 3 broken swords in a single day. You can than combine the materials required, which are mostly pre-hardmode for the true night's edge, get some hallowed bars for true excalibur and than make the terra blade. You don't even have to fight Plantera once, if you've beaten one mechanical boss you can pretty much sweep the other bosses without even having to upgrade gear because Melee titanium/hallowed is good enough. I can't rant without coming up with a solution, Seeing as the Terra blade is light green, I'd say add a unique Plantera or Golem drop to the required material to make the Terra blade, that way at least the other mechanical bosses and Plantera still present a challenge. This would also make True Night's Edge/Excalibur more obsolete than they are now.

Even with the projectile, I can't bring ymself to use the terra blade on bosses. I prefer to mow them down with a fully automatic gun.

Terra Blade is pretty hard to get, you have to defeat at least 2 Solar Eclipses. When the Broken Hero Sword drops 3 times in one Solar Eclipse then you're really lucky, besides, by that stage of the game you can't kill so many mobs on Solar Eclipse so... I got one Broken Hero sword on each Solar Eclipse myself when I even had a farming base with lava, traps and such and only got 2 from 2 Solar Eclipses.

Solar Eclipse does not happen so often, so it takes you a lot of time to get the Terra Blade. Btw if you think it's super easy then go kill Duke Fishron or do Frost Moon or Halloween event, I'm sure you'll be like omg this melee class is so underpowered!

Doing it manually, the best eclipse I had dropped 5 broken hero swords, 3 broken bat wings, a death scythe, 2 consecutive eyesprings, and a moon stone.

The worst I've ever done with my water candle, battle potion, and flat arena was one broken hero sword. And that was my first run with only a mega shark and meteor shots!

Yeah, you can see that I'm not big fan of potions, I'm too lazy to collect the materials for the potions :D but thanks for reminding anyway, I'll make sure that I have the potions on me and the water candle while farming :)

I simply dug a pit down into the ground and blocked off the tiles above me. The frankensteins and swamp things fall into the pit and can't get out, i use a spear to deal with the Reapers, then occasionally i throw my Dao of Pow through the top quickly murdering the monsters. the vampires don't enter but i don't need any of their drops anyways, i'm going for those hero swords.

Death weed isn't too hard to come by if your world's been around long enough and still has corruption and crimson spreading rampantly. Just go into those areas underground and wildly swing at enemies with a sword.

The vertibre or rotten chunks aren't much harder, either. Just run in, kill stuff, and loot their dead body parts (and money.)

If you're having trouble with the bottle water... that's... seriously, get some sand and a furnace. And a couple bukets of water.

Anecdotal evidence is worthless but since we're doing that, I might as well throw in mine since it directly contradicts your experience. In all my hours playing this game, i've only even experienced 2 solar eclipses.

The first time, I used a spiky ball trap arena I had set up for the moon events with a water candle and battle potions. I was playing mp at the time so I used my server commands to extend it for over an hour. I walked away with barely the 3 broken hero swords needed to craft the other guy a terra blade.

The second time I let it run naturally (still using a water candle and battle potions but without the arena and using endgame gear like razorblade typhoon.) I got 2 broken hero swords.

It all depends on luck really. If you get an early eclipse when you're ready for it and good luck with the drops, you can get a terra blade as one of your first hardmode items. On the other hand, you could be like me and have 90% of your playthroughs never even give you an eclipse and then not get all 3 broken hero swords in a single run even when it does.

Because of that luck factor, i've always seen the terra blade as one of the most unnecessarily difficult weapons to obtain. Unlike any other class' top tier gear, you have no control over whether you even get the chance to farm it; let alone whether you get the drop from your efforts. I'm just glad I prefer playing mage so it doesn't really affect me.

Really? I'd say a lot of things are obtained early if you focus on getting only that. I didn't get the Terra Blade for ages.

Exactly. Totally agree. I've had maybe 4 or 5 on my main hardmode world, and that's over many, many, many hours.

I'm with Cyborgt - over 350 hours and only seen 1 solar eclipse. Ironically right after I asked just how rare they were on these forums a few days ago. Luckily got 2 broken swords (already had true excalibur from a friend) so was able to make the Terra Blade.

Really, the only difficult aspect of getting the Terra Blade is how stupid rare the Eclipses are.

If you can get one or two of those to happen, you're probably gonna get the thing. I've been lucky, myself, and I've made at least 2 Terra Blades, a 3rd True Excalibur, and a 3rd True Night's Edge.

And I've still got, like, 7 Broken Hero Swords.

Dude, my farming base is 100 times better :D seriously, I have those clouds, I have another thing that creates clouds, the crimson one, I got the rainbow rod, got minions now, the whole screen is like a farming base, they come in the room, jump down there in the lava, but the lava is not that high to destroy the dropped items, the place is full of 40 or so traps, + the traps from above + me shooting with my Scourge of the Corruptor 'cause I don't need to aim, besides, I don't have anything better. Oh, and I'm planning to do put life statues next to me, but since I don't get damaged I don't waste time on that, just got mah camp fire and the heart chandelier thing and the water candle, I can have more stuff but this is too much itself.

to be honest i got terra blade very very early too, but i didnt use that sword at all, i had so many other weapons, actually used it like 20 minutes mbe.
