Can you fight plantera on the surface?

It's possible to beat her there, just very hard to do so. Learn to dodge it's attacks, as Tanking them is out of question (especifically that damned Pink Ball!).

Don't(?). The poor, poor nurse will die if it's too nearby, and if it's too far Plantera will vanish.

Learned that the hard way. Died once again. Very frustrating boss. I've always just cheesed it with that super fast melee weapon. Wanted to try to do an actual fight but I'm getting smacked

Aim for Normal Mode first. Learn it's patterns and get a fast-damaging weapon and armor (Stardust would be good, for instance, if you're trying it just for doing it. The Cells do some very good damage).

the best way too fight it is by makeing a room under ground
then have one of the weopones call the death sickle that shots projectiles and use it againt him thats wat i did

I'm in normal mode. I can easily beat every boss in expert mode but can't even beat plantera in normal mode lol

Alb cat i fought the moonlord with the nurse nearby, its a good strategy just make sure the boss dosnt get to close. Plus you should have a friend. If you die and he/she is still alive you heal then go back to fighting while the other person switches to healing. I used that strategy with my friend to win so good luck!

That's not what I mean. Those 2 enraged bosses get WAY harder than Moon Lord (at least, the other one does). The nurse COULD end up dead if you just leave her.
