Repeat process like twenty times.
Constantly force character to make risky terrain jumps and lose focus, while saving no significant amount of effort and having no real benefit.
In expert mode you need to be on a flat surface. Getting caught on a block or slowing down for even a single frame will get you killed because the wall of flesh ends up moving even faster than the player with hermes boots towards the end of the fight, so having to jump up and over terrain in expert mode WoF would make the fight near impossible.
Either pick a flatter section of terrain, or use grapple. It's not that hard. I've never made a bridge even once in Normal mode. Also, why are you landing IN the pits instead of at the top? You can just jump from one peak to the next.
