My guide wont move in.. Actually Nobody will.

So basically im making a base where there are a bunch of spheres connected by plat-forms and walls and doors. I have finished one, and mind you im in a new wolrd with a new character. I've put some lighting, i've put down walls, and i've put down the table and chair needed. My guide did die, but usually by now he would have respawned. If anyone can tell me why he wont move it, it would be very appreciated!

If you go to the housing menu and click on the ? then click inside your house it'll tell you exactly what's wrong with it.

1) You need obviously blocks to form a house
2) You also need walls
3) You need a door, light, and flat surface
4) You ALSO need to have at least one non-platform block at the bottom.
5) NPCs don't respawn at night, only at dat (about 6am -> 6pm IIRC)

Make the walls as high as you can build them without jumping or moving. Then go right (or left, depending which way you want the door) for 8 blocks. Put the back walls, the left wall, the door, etc. That's the basic design for a NPC house that I often use. See if he spawns then. If not, your world might be busted or you did it wrong. As said before, check the housing with the ?

I still dont know why it wont work where I was trying to put the house, I tried the ? but all it said was it wasn't suitable, even though it had everything it needed.

The NPCs spawn at the day, but they are able to move into housing at night once they are spawned.
Please note that there's a big difference between "spawn" and "move in".

Even if you weren't wrong, which you were, why feel the need to fingerpoint like a dickwad anyway? Like, if you have to say anything about it at all, why can't you just explain it for those who might not be as all knowing about a 2D side scroller as you are?

I had this on a world once i create a new one problem solved.
so mayb youre world is bugged else youre housing is incorrect.
