Help with Expert Melee Wall of Flesh
So, I've been challenging myself by doing Expert Mode Melee, and I cannot, for the life of me defeat the Wall of Flesh.
None of my weapons have any range whatsoever. I've tried the Beekeeper which I can use to kite the WoF and knock back hungries.
I've used the Sunfury, which wasn't good. I've used the Dark Lance. I've used the cascade out of desperation even though I wasn't going to use YoYos.
I've tried everything, but I can't seem to do hardly any damage at all. My arena setup is pretty good and all or most of my accessories have the warding modifier.
My accessories are Obsidian Shield, Worm Scarf, Bundle of Balloons, Feral Claws and Spectre Boots.
I've got constant honey supply, sunflowers, a lazer blocking roof above my very long runway; I just have no idea how to defeat him. I haven't even got close as I cannot get in to do damage.
Any suggestions??

also, try using the firey greatsword, that has good size, plus using molten armor increases melee dmg, so use that too

also, if your going meele, use boomerangs and yo yos, those are melee too
Isnt boomerangs ranged?

No. Boomerangs do melee damage.

no, check the wiki
"Boomerangs are weapons that come back to the player after being thrown. Uniquely, although they have a much longer range than more conventional melee"

i suggest a loadout that consists of Firey Greatsword, Flaming Boomerang, Hel-Fire, and Molten armor, with potions and buffs *i reccomend the wrath/rage, regen, swift, and ironskin potions!*

I don't know if flask work on WoF or the hungry but I would try to get the poison flask.

Hel-Fire is hardmode only.

The Bee Keeper is a good choice for when the Hungries are too close for you. You could also make an Inferno Potion to help with the hungries.

You could try using the Flammarang. What I like doing is having the Flammarang, the Thorn Chakaram, and any other boomerang you can find. When you throw the Flammarang, you'll have to wait a bit for it to come back. While waiting, you can throw your other boomerangs. You could aslo try getting more potions, too. I've never fought Wall of Flesh in expert with melee, but I've done it with throwing in expert. Try using the Enchanted Sword or the Frostbrand for the projectiles they shoot out, if you can find them. Try getting a Bundle of Balloons, an Amber Horseshoe Balloon (Honey Balloon [Balloon + Honey Comb] + Horseshoe) a Hive Pack, a Cobalt Shield, and a Panic Necklace. If you're in corruption, use a shackle or something instead of the Panic Necklace.
Frostbrand is hardmode only.

I meant the Frost Blade, or whatever the pre hardmode version is called. Sorry. I'll edit my post.

Update: I attempted another Wall of Flesh fight after putting on a hive pack and adding more campfires and heart lanterns. I was using the bee keeper.
I failed.
I can still barely get the WoF past half health.
Give us your loadout.
Loadout stated above (now with hivepack). I have molten armor, naturally.

Also, yes. I am using buffs. All of them. Except for inferno and lifeforce.

You didnt try everything melee based ! Here few inspirations:
Try the flamarang,
Try nights edge with real good tank gear or minecart tracks
Try the flail sunfury

Also dont forget buff potions: Endurance , flask of XX, defense , regen etc

good luck :3

edit: nights edge is done: muramasa + butchers edge + grass sword + firey greatsword at demon altar

Make sure to use the philosophers stone, and bring a few campfires and heart statues, those help, Dont forget to use a hive necklace from a honey comb and a panic necklace
Uhh, the Philosopher's stone is hardmode only. I'm assuming this person is on their first fight with the WoF on their world, so they do not have access to that. However, the one thing I would reccommond for the WoF. Beenades. They destroy the WoF. I know they are throwing, but that's the only way I was able to kill the WoF as melee on expert myself.

Then you basically failed your melee run . Throwing is throwing period :p

That's your viewpoint on it, but since it's not a fully fleshed out class, I personally, don't care about using beenades on the WoF.

Throwing is very much fleshed out in prehardmode with 2 dedicated armors. So yes you failed your melee run especially since melee is one of the most refined classes in the game.
Yes the final prehardmode tier armor is even specifically designed for melee ( hellstone ).

Thats fact not a viewpoint. But i can agree that certain bosses are easier as certain classes.
But class runs are there to be a challenge to begin with so you did contradict yourself there :p

It is not a fleshed out class. Does it have hardmode armours and weapons and such? No, it does not.
