Too dark when I play terraria! Any solutions??

When I play Terraria, It gets too dark. This happens when it is night, or when I am in a cave. I did anything I could to resolve this issue, but nothing worked! Any solutions?

A) Adjust brightness on game if possible
B) Adjust computer brightness
C) Make a torch on game
D) Make/find something that gives you the shine buff

Ever been out in the country, far away from any city lights? That's how it is in real life, so it makes sense it would happen in this game, too. Light lots and lots of tiki torches, that's what I do. Oh, and nothing gets my blood pumping like spawning at my origin point (before I make a bed) and know that zombies are a few feet away from me, doing their drooly-growl thing. Great with headphones on.

first, change the light mode to something which lets you see more layers of tiles.

next, at the start, you have no choice but to place torches everywhere you go.
to make torches, combine gel (from slimes) and wood.
to place them quickly, hold down shift while your mouse is a short distance from your character and the torch will be selected automatically. left click to place on the ground or the wall if there is one. just put it every 20 blocks or so.

later on, you will have other sources of light like a light pet, armour, minions, weapons which makes the whole torch affair unnecessary.

well thats a featur eof the game, light is a ressource. so bring enough torches and spam them until you get soem light pets.

No need to necro the thread either :P

On a side note i have a opposite problem Terraria is way too bright compared to other games.
Like night and day difference.

But that only happens when i'm playing anything but native resolution so oh well. If i finally replace this old monitor and this will still happen .. then i'll start to worry.

turn off background, wierdly enough background makes most of in game lag and makes the game darker
