[SUGGESTION] Useless Hook and Gem's Hooks.

Hook it's one of the useless item the game after the update that Gems can be used to Craft a Gem Hook.

Before the update, Hook were an item hard to get, after a while killing enemies to drop, you could finally craft a Grappling Hook and use that as the most important item in the game.

Once Gems Hooks were added in the game, we don't need Hook anymore, there's no purpose on having that in the game, we can acquire 15 of the same Gems and craft a Gem Hook.

My suggestion here is to use the Hook as material in the recipe to craft a Gem Hook, OR use the Grappling Hook as material.


Could easy as that:
15 Gems + Hook = Gem Hook.
Gem Hook + 10 Chain = Grappling Gem Hook.

OR

Hook + 10 Chains = Grappling Hook.
Grappling Hook + 15 Gems = Grappling Gem Hook.

You have to have 10 or 15 hooks I think
tbh I have only ever gotten around 20 hooks in all the time I have ever played Terraria.
And while these drop rates are relatively high for Terraria I don't think anyones going to wonder around in a cave and kill skeletons to get hooks and if they are going to make a farm they would need wire and to get wire you need the mechanic and to get her you need to kill skeletron. By that time you would already have better gear.

It's easy, just find a Dart Trap and use the wire with the Skeleton Statue to farm Skeletons.

I think YOU didn't understand, you actualy DON'T NEED THE MECHANIC to use Wire.

If you go to the underground, eventualy you will find Dart Traps.
Dart Traps are connected by wire with a button.

You can remove the Dart Trap, see how long is the wire,
place the Skeleton Statue, Pirana Statue or Viking Statue,
do a littke "arena" around the Statue to don't let the Skeleton leave,
and jump to press the buttons as the same as hit the Skeleton.

You DEFINETLY don't need Mechanic to do that.
I do that all the time to farm the Skeleton Sword and the Ancient Gold Helmet.
After a while, we can acquire more than 30 Hooks while farming both items.

PS.: Skeleton Statue it's the easiest Monster Statue to find.

I'm saying it's the easiest one not by rating, but by experience.

In all my worls, I always find the Skeleton Statue.
Some times Slime and Jellyfish.

But always, 100% of the worlds, for sure, I find Angel Statue, Gloom Statue as the most.
I don't need to say about Item Statues neither Weapons Statues, of course.

How about another recipe for hooks that makes them useful forever? Like for crafting specific fishing rods, accessories, or blocks? The entire point of the gem hooks was for people who can't find the hook drops.

vc acha que fica muito pratico e facil de conseguir algo ultil? (na minha opiniao a hook pode te salvar de muita coisa e facilitar outras)

mas... entao qual o grande problema que vc vê nisso? n entendi direito sua proposta de deixar o mode de craftar hooks no inicio do game mais dificil
