I lost all of My progress, how do i get it back???
Okay so, me and my friend were playing with eachother for hours. Hours dedicated to these characters. I got a new computer, and assumed that my steam account would keep the data saved in the steam cloud.

NOPE

I lost everything, and I don't know how to get it back. Is there like backups I can use, Anything??? I don't want to lose all of my progress

start a new world and enter "getfixedboi" as a seed :P good luck on matermode.

Terraria is local save-game files, only. It doesn't have Steam save synchronization for worlds, items, or profiles. There are other games that also won't utilize Steam sync backup; I suggest keeping a small USB drive around for such situations.

Your files are still saved on your old computer, I hope you didn't wipe the hard drive or get rid of it yet.

Are you sure? Terraria can use Steam Cloud and it's features to store and sync Worlds and Characters data but you need first to click a little cloud icon that should be below any World or Character stats to enable cloud features for it.

Ohhh, surely.... I must have forgotten I had synced a world awhile ago. Apologies- Must have only done it once, as I actually saved my Terraria data to portable disk. Perhaps the storage & sync of user's content was an update to the game/Steam just a bit after Terraria's release? Dunno, just wanted to note my fault as such.

on your character, i think theres a toggle like favoriting the character to save it to the cloud, I did this for one of my characters to use it on multiple computers.

You have to toggle Steam cloud saves per character, otherwise you've gotta go dig up your old saves from the previous computer, if you still have it.

Push come to shove, you could replicate your old inventory as best as you can via a save editor or an "All Items" map, and then just blitz a new world back up to where you left off.
well assuming you're able to boot the old computer back up, just throw those save files into a usb drive then transfer to your new computer.

If you had your saves in Steam clound then doing a file verify should bring them back

Else not, then the best thing you can do is to transfer from your old computer to the new.

copy terraria's save files from old pc (from a 20$ usb or smth) onto your new pc on terraria's same file directory for the save files.

You could try replicating all your items on a free items server, like t.teeria.eu:7776

I don't know, I've had this issue before, and lost everything. But i grinded to get my stuff back, That's why my playtime says 400+ hours.
