How do you get demonite

There's also rarely some small pockets of naturally occuring demonite, though you won't be able to mine it until you get a good pickaxe, and by the time you can actually mine it it's useless anyways.

go fish in the sea and catch a reaver shark and a sawtoooth shark respectivly the pickaxe and the saw this is the fast solution wich you can have very very early game and will last untill early hardmode
the long solution is farming all the mats wich takes hours just go foor the fishing you will have both the pick axe and saw n noo time and with some luck you loot a crate with a Falcon blade of 30 dmg with fast auto swing in it also

You'll need either a pickaxe made of either demonite or crimtane. As such, you will need to go and take down the eye and the eater/brain.

However, since you are looking specifically for demonite, more likely than not you'll need to fight the eater instead of the brain, as the brain is only naturally fought on a crimson world, which does not naturally have demonite.
