Stinkbugs!
I cannot seem to find any stink bugs to craft the flymeal or any other stinkbug related crafting item. Is there something that i might be missing in order to get stinkbugs to spawn?

There are certain days when they spawn, but I don't know if it's random or based on certain weather conditions or moon phases.

The spawn rate of stinkbugs is randomized each dawn - there is only a 33% chance for stinkbugs to spawn at all on any given day, and 20% of that time they still don't spawn that day, and even then they can only spawn if it's not raining or windy, and even after that their spawn rate is fairly randomized.

If you see 1 stinkbug on a day, that means more will spawn for that day.

Make sure you are near a town. That increases the chance for critters to spawn.

Yet my base on my recent world is often infested with them

Yeah it feels like it is a hit or miss with these things

Got it ty!
The good news is that if they do spawn, they'll spawn in a huge quantity. I haven't been catching them because their bait power is low (They stink so nobody wants to eat them I guess) but if they have recipes I may need to start catching some more.

Yes they do have recipes and one of them is quite usefull! Its a sword that lets you hit and ultimately kill npc's which makesgetting drops and also re housing as breeze! Theres also an item that if you put it in a house npc wont move it that specific house which is great for builders!

...You know you can just relocate them via the housing tab, right? You don't need to kill them.

well if you want you can get a setup to kill the npcs in <1 second (basically deleting them) using the flymeal

probably couldnt make an instant kill setup with rotten eggs tho

But why would you ever want to do that?
