Whips do not get boosted by melee damage, however they are boosted by melee speed-increasing effects. They are also boosted by summon damage just like your average minion. In terms of whips to use at your stage in the game, Cool Whip is more of a gimmick weapon than anything and honestly isn't as effective as some others. The best you can get currently is the Firecracker, dropped by the Wall of Flesh, and to answer your question on the top of the post: Yes, you can place a Cavern Pylon in the underworld for quick travel.
Also duke fishron seems to fast ....
Currently i use just boomstick for flying with 40 mph, or do i need cosmic car key for fast flying? Or even water with the fishron thing?
by using a solar fragment melee weapon or a strong one when youre close to ml, when you are backing away use vortex beater with chlorophyte bullets
i recommend using endurance potion, ice shield, and worm scarf to lower the demage dealt by his attacks to over 50%, making a major difference in the battle. using at least 1 dodge accessory also helps. the queen of slime hook also helps in dodging the eye laser moonlord does from time to time
if you cant use the mounts make a minecart track world wide and use the mechanical cart
One tip I can tell you is that for fishron final form count 1, 1-2, 1-2-3 to dodge his sweeping attacks. Count out loud so you don't lose track.
For Moonlord there are too much stuff to dodge I don't even recommend trying. I have tried but not found any pattern that works. I have also watched the internet and not seen anyone do it. Yrimir came close but I don't think he would have won vs master ftw version using the tactic I saw. For this reason it is the only boss where I think it is ok to cheese with the "run away" tactic (which works against many bosses). Just get any speedy stuff. Cosmic car key is fine. The fishron mount is only faster when raining. Making bubble liquid pillars works but is a lot of effort. Just get the ufo and fly in that, or use grav potions. Grav potions will be a little harder dodging the main eye death ray because it is easy to get confused when the world flips, but obviously doesn't take a rare drop to acquire. It will also be harder to aim, making the fight longer.
I died two times as mediumcore char and twice most items despawned lol ...
I think there is a certain treshhold whereas new items spawns delete older items from ground?
Anyone know specifics, because that could also make afk farming less effective especially, if a valuable rare item like rod of discord dropped, but continuous drops can delete those rares again?
Items that are in the "dropped" state will disappear ("despawn") upon exiting the world. At that point, it is impossible to reacquire them. If there are more than 400 "dropped" items on the world, items will also start despawning. In this instance, the items that have remained dropped for the longest amount of time may vanish as new items are added to the screen.
AFK farming is still good, just be sure to check periodically for the item that you want!
On the DST board most people are plenty helpful, and in this terraria thread i learned alot of new stuff.
PS: What is the point of torch luck? I made a hallowed underground biome to farm for elementals for the rod of discord. I spammed all area with holy torches, but they don't seem to do much? ....
Yes i read the wiki on torch luck, but i still don't understand the point on luck in terraria?
In EtG it seems to make sense considering chest loot and getting rainbow chests, but why on terraria? oO
Luck in Terraria is simply an influence on the chance of something happening, be it item drop rates, random events, or more rare enemy spawns! The higher luck, the higher the chance of more rare things occurring! (And vice versa.)
Torch Luck is one way of increasing/decreasing your luck. If you place the correct torches in the correct biomes, you will gain a slight amount of luck (or lose some if you place the wrong ones in wrong biomes). Do note that the increase is only a very slight amount, but combined with things like garden gnomes and luck potions can sometimes help.
Also remember that if a torch is decreasing your luck, it cannot decrease your luck to below 0, the regular (much to the joy of everyone).
If you are talking about OP, then that is more reasonable. But as they clarified in later comments, they needed a more thorough understanding about certain things, even after consulting the wiki (which I elaborated on right after). I don't really see the harm in asking questions to begin with! Do you?
