I was going to ask you to check and make sure you hadn't accidentally muted music, etc. from the in-game options menu, but if everything else goes silent too, then that's probably not it. Uh... you could try restarting your computer. When I have sound problems (not related to Terraria specifically) that tends to fix it. But since it is admittedly not quite the same problem, I can't guarantee that will work.
Fixed problem by booting game in windowed mode then making it full screen again... why? I have no idea but it worked...

This doesnt work for me. I must say that when i want to accept the configuration it doesnt change. (For instance: I change from fullscreen to window mode, it stays in fullscreen but it says it is in windowed mode)

Fixed the problem. Go to sound > Sound Settings > Advanced sound option > and look for terraria and where it shows the muted sound icon to the left of it's sound bar, move the sound around and take it to 100. Hope this works, it worked for me.

thats not doing anything for me, idk why. recently had facerig installed and it mudded up every bit of audio on my computer, recently fixed everything else but for some odd reason, tmodloader REFUSES to play any audio anymore, ive reinstalled it multiple times n everything, reset audio on it, did everything above and nothing :/ majorly confused and cant even continue the playthrough i was doing.
running Terraria v1.3.5.3
tmodloader v0.11.7.7

I was playing yesterday, sound working fine. Today, no sound. Only thing that changed was a windows update. I've reinstalled all my audio drivers, Terraria, Tmod-loader etc. Still can't get it to work (Although non modded Terraria, audio works fine).

Seems i have the same problem, and so do my friends, was there a patch or update released recently that caused this?
