Hornet staff or Imp staff

So me and my friends recently defeated queen bee and are planning to fight skeleton next. I'm the summoner in the group and I share my staff with everyone so we have a better DPS overall.

Since skeletron is immune to on fire and posion debuff which staff allows for a more constant DPS output?

Note this is pre-hardmode in case if wasn't implied enough.

Imp staff, absolutely.
And it will be even better if you keep resummoning an imp after it has shot, as that refreshes it's shot "cooldown"

I'd go with Imp Staff for bosses as it has high per hit damage than Hornet and that's important cause bosses usually have higher defenses than regular mobs so Hornet might be as useful as a squirt gun.

I feel the Bees have a faster shooting rate, maybe try to check the DPS meter accesory to see which one does more dmg?

Bees are better for low hp targets, for bosses and tankier enemies (and especially in hardmode for farming spiders), imps are superior in every way
