What does that pink flower thing in the jungle do?

is it underground? if so, dont mine it unless you think you are ready, it spawns plantera. it's probably good to build an arena near the plant.

if it's underground, it's definetely a boss.
as soon as you mine it plantera spawns, and plantera has 2 forms.

Good luck and make sure you have enough space down there. Don't even try going back to surface while fighting that thing

This is a Boss Spawn, Plantera one. You can hit with some ranged and summon hits, but if you hit with melee damage it will break it, if you aren't ready to deal with Plantera, avoid this.

No, it's like any other large background object (e.g. rocks), you can hit it with whatever and it does nothing. The only way to break it is to mine the object or the tiles under it with a pickaxe.

I thought is was if mined it... Or hit it with a hammer... I don't remember really, been a while. (I'm trying to get back to where I was so I'll find out soon enough).

This, but I've heard if you retreat to the surface, the boss gets stronger.

But I don't know from personal experience, only heard it from online.

Plantera's bulb. Summons Plantera when you break it and if you aren't prepared, it will cause a lotta damage

Its been a long time since you had to mine ALL backround pass-through objects with a hammer and not a pic.

Adamantite might work... emphasis on *might*. Really what you want to do is kill one of the mechs over and over until you get a full suit of Hallowed for your primary class... (At least, that's how I remember it.)
