1. Cheat
2. All item world
3. Use special seed for extreme increased drop rate

4. Sacrifice your soul and sanity sitting in underground hollow and farm 10 hours straight.

Method 3 and 4 are legit way by working through the game's mechanic.
Special seed increases drop rate from 0.2% to 1%, but you have to create a new world and defeat WoF to enable hardmode.
Method 4 is the OG way, but you can speed up the process by means of increasing luck, increasing NPC spawn (battle potion, water candle) etc

ok i will try thx

i got it by suprise once in a normal playthrough. You can also use hallowed torches and gnomes to increase your luck of drop rates slightly and gnomes make rarer enemies spawn more, and also battle potions and water candles. Hallowed torches gives you minor buffs if you place them in the hallowed biome, and one of those minor buffs is a luck buff

In addition to what spooky suggested, if you've also got some ladybugs on hand, you can catch them with a net to increase your luck for a short period. Doesn't have to be naturally spawned, if you've got some stockpiled from a previous catch, just release and re-capture them.

The wiki says you have to touch naturally spawned ladybugs to get the effect. So if you spawn it with a bug net it doesn't give you luck when you touch it. The only way to actually do that to get some sort of luck is you need to lead it to your enemy farm (which is annoying) and touch it every so 2-1 minutes so the luck buff you get from it doesnt wear off.

thx guys i'll try and i hope this will work. Btw i trying to get 1 full chest of rod of discord bc i with friend will do speedrun(for fun) (we will start from start(cutting tree)
I got it early on when I entered hard mode and didn't know what it does. Tried using it as a regular staff and died. I was like - "wtf?" Luckily I decided to put it away in storage instead of selling it to the nearest NPC.

The wiki may say that, but when I check with the wizard (who tells you if you're lucky right now or not), he confirms my luck has increased when I release and re-capture them.

actually, your luck increases when you touch natural ladybugs, not ones captured then spawned again..

No? just download an item world on the workshop with a rod of discord... you will rarely ever get a dev to give you something..
