Solar Pillar is just too hard.

I've been trying to defeat the slowly sinking solar pillar in my pre Moon Lord world for the longest time, however I just can't do anything to it. Before anyone says "stay on the ground, the crawltipides won't get you", I know that already. In fact, wherever I am, I always die. On the surface, overwhelmed by powerful enemies. In the air, killed by the Crawltipide in point two seconds, underground, killed by the annoying enemies that clip through walls. Can anyone help? I'm using a ton of summoning stuff, the best pre Moon Lord stuff, and lots of near endgame items.

The Crawltipides Treat Plat forms as ground so if it isn't to deap you can Make a platform above the soler Piller and run back and forth killing the enemys untill the shield is droped

Now my question is how I build said platforms. I keep dying before I can put more than five down.

For building, equip the architect gizmo pack, use lots of defensive potions as well as peace candles and switch to a melee set for this short time. Also if you dont have it already, get the master ninja gear, an extra black belt and the flairon(great for those suckas)

If you dont have it already, grind for it.
The possed hatchet can make this alot easier, simply make this setup-
1.Build solid blocks 20-30 blocks off the groud.
2. Place bubble blocks and put honey in them.(Doing this, if you jump and dont fly,youll be fine.)
3. Make sure you use any homing Weapon!
4. The mobs that clip through walls can be dealt with, If you have the option, place traps(recommended)
5. If your still having trouble, try to take off your wings.
6. If that doesnt help, try the following weapons- Phantasm with venom arrows.
Chain gun or gatlingun with bullets of your choice (Clorophyte always recommended)
Possed hatchet
Snowman cannon(if you can)
Horseman blade (Also highly recommended)
Hope this helps for you.

EDIT: Crawltipides Do have a colldown before they lock on, its 0.5 sec and even after that, youll be fine as theyll lose intrest.

i have a massive tip for ya. don't leave the ground or else the near invincible annoying centapedes will hunt you to death. equip a stardust drag staff to kill those things as well.

My best strategy is:
1) Do the other pillars first to make the Stardust Dragon Staff and the Nebula Arcanum.
2) Use accessories that give you more summons, but use specter armor with the healing helmet
3) Use the Stardust Dragon Staff, Razorblade Typhoon, Nebula Arcanum and Magnet Sphere. If you can get a good turret and some good potions too it helps.
4) As you already know, stay on the ground

I never had any trouble with any pillars using that setup. You can deal with most enemies using those magic weapons, and the dragon can take care of enemies who clip through walls.

I have a terra blade, however for me, it's useless.

I already know not to fly up, and the dragon doesn't work well.
