is hallowed set better or chlorophyte set for ranger?

I am playing back after a long time and went through some guides to help me progress through the game. A page named armor progression in wiki suggested to go a full hallowed set over cholorphyte set in pre-plantera section. I was wondering which one might be better, can anyone help me out? If cholorphyte set isn't that big of a buff I am willing to skip it.

Very comparable but Chlorophyte is better. +9 defense in exchange for 1% less damage and 3% less movement speed.

You're forgetting about the set bonus that Hallowed has in that it allows you to occasionally completely dodge a damage instance, not to mention chlorophyte is pretty much never worth making just due to the fact that the gear after Plantera uses those bars.

use both at the same time, slot in your hallowed armor every 30 seconds to refresh the passive, the switch back to ur damage armor.

Hallowed, plantera does actually a bit of damage so its good to have a attack dodge buff

Hallowed. Spare the chlorophyte for bullets. I know you can create a farm but it's still tedious to gather it. That said, +9 defensive is more effective vs. Plantera then it is in general due to her spammy attacks. But it's still not worth it.
