Is bottomless lava bucket hardmode?

I've been fishing in a lava lake I made on the surface, and I got a superheated blood, so I'm trying to get an infinite lava bucket to flood hell for an easier WoF fight (im in expert) Anyways I've gotten 4 demon conchs, probably at least 20 obsidian crates, 2 lava sponges, 3 superheated bloods, but no lava Bucket. Is it harmode only? is the wiki wrong or am I just extremely unlucky?

I never knew these bottomless buckets were a thing. Interesting.
But its said that the lava bucket doesnt require hardmode.
Outside that you seem to be stuck in the same boat as me with luck on drops XD

seems like you are just unlucky but if i remember it correctly you get it out of the crates

I ended up getting one, also it doesnt come from a crate, you fish it up like a fish
