HORNET STAF VS IMP STAFF

In Terraria pre hardmode as sumoner you can have 2 staff post dungeon: hornet staff and imp staff, my question is: which is the best one? (in your opinion)

higher damage + sets enamies on fire + piercing

hornet only has the advantage of attack rate

Definitely hornet staff in my opinion. The imp staff gains immune frames when attacking, meaning that most of its attacks won't trigger because they interfere with another attack. They also have terrible aim. The imp staff is better for crowd control because the piercing attacks can help quite a bit. In terms of dps, hornet staff is much better in my opinion. I'd recommend using hornets for boss fights and the imp staff for goblin invasions
