Download Tedit open the map and sometimes the Tedit fix the Tiles number to 2400 and fix it. Actually the Backup File isnt needed to Open a map, So you can delete the backups actually.
I'd perhaps try (1) verifying the game files, (2) verifying .NET Framework 4.x is installed correctly (or running sfc /scannow on Windows 8+), and (3) verifying that XNA Framework Redistributable 4.0 Refresh is installed correctly.
That's how I code all of my games, you don't add a bunch of hardcoded flags to trigger bugs so you can pump up your bugfix quotas?
Forgive me if my first instinct for a Steam game I have previously used with few issues was to see if anyone else was having a similar issue rather than crawling through the Windows Event Log. If that's the standard you imagine most people should be held to when it comes to trying to figure out why their game is crashing, that's ridiculous.
I haven't played the game in years, so yes, it worked before the latest hotfix. Along with presumably a whole slew of other updates.
Windows 10. As if there were any others.
For more details, I am able to start the game and get to the main menu fine. I go to create a new character and am able to change the name and any features of the character, but when I try to finish the process, the error occurs. I can't seem to copy the text though. Here are some highlights - I don't guarantee that there aren't any typos, but it should be close:
System.InvalidOperationException: This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms.

Are you going to suggest my next step is decompiling to source code and putting breakpoints in all of these functions so I can get more details?
I did verify the game files. It indicated one file was replaced. The issue persisted. Hmm. Well I guess I'll do some reading and figure out if those are installed.
By the way there are multiple versions of Windows 10 known as Feature Updates, as Microsoft has changed the development model of the OS.
Like, holding ctrl, shif or/and alt giving a new set of hotkeys use.
Like 1-9; Ctrl+1-Ctrl+9, Alt+1-Alt+9 and so on?
Specially now that torch throw use the whole stack and we have to continuously separate them.
