Game Doesn't Open when i press play
For some reason whenever i try to open terraria it states "Running" then just stops, i never get to even look into the menu of the game because of this, i've verified the game cache and that didn't help, anyone got a solution, if you do i'd greatly appreciate your help.

Same for me. Latest Windows 10 is installed. Latest NVIDIA drivers are installed. Trying to launch Terraria always fails.

Display: LG C9 4k
GPU: EVGA 3080RTX XC3
CPU: Intel 10900K
RAM: 64 GB

All my other games work flawlessly.

I tried deleting and reinstalling Terraria many times, and it ALWAYS fails to launch. It has been this way for months!

I realize software is complicated to develop, but come on ReLogic, this goes way beyond the pale. It's totally unacceptable to charge money for software that 100% does not work.
Have you tried deleting the config file and then reverifing the game files? When you uninstall the game, the config file is NOT deleted and it is NOT replaced when you reinstall the game.

This may not solve your problem but you won't know until you try it. It solved the problem for me when I had the same issue.
Delete the files in Documents, then reinstall the game. If this doesnt work then :steamsad:
Believe me, the game is awesome though.

Do you have an application that's running in the background with terraria? I usually have this problem like running the terraria server console. I'd end the process in the task manager then spam click play on terraria.

There are no files in Documents. I have never gotten Terraria to boot up, so there's no way I could have any config or save data. It has literally never opened, ever.

This is a brand new computer that I just installed a fresh Windows 10 onto. It is a mainstream logic board, GPU, and CPU. There are no weird third-party software on this machine, it's 100% virgin.

YO RELOGIC. FIX YOUR DAMN GAME!!!!

No, I don't have anything running in the background except for Steam, obviously.
Did you check C:\Users\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\Terraria?
Even with a fresh install, having already deleted config file, I have always had a config file at this location.

I've also had this problem for a while, tried fixes I found online from people with the exact same issue and nothing works, apparently a file is missing and veryfing files or reinstalling doesn't install it.
For anyone who's still struggling with this, doing the following fixed it for me:

Install .NET Uninstall Tool from here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/core/additional-tools/uninstall-tool?tabs=windows

Follow the steps listed on the github page (https://github.com/dotnet/cli-lab/releases)

Launch Terraria

My problem was old ass leftover frameworks. After removing them all, it runs like a dream.
To everyone having this issue, my friend had the same problem - reinstalling microsoft stuff didn't help, nor verifying game files.
What did help though was running terraria.exe directly.
