Trying to make a custom texture pack that replaces paintings, can someone guide me?

I'm trying to make a custom texture pack that replaces the paintings but I don't know where to start, I tried it before (Going on Terraria wiki, saving the .png on the image, editing it in photoshop and creating a resource pack and loading it in-game) but it didn't work.

If someone could guide me or send a guide, that would be great!

oh yeah same here and ive just spent the last 6 hors editing and saving into a folder and i swear I'm gonna actually just leap out my window in a sec

Did you ever figure out how to do this?

I've been looking into it, and it seems changing the item id png changes it in the inventory and you need to change the painting in the tiles images (for example tiles_242 has a lot of paintings) for it to actually change how it is displayed.

I haven't gone through the process of creating it yet but am planning on doing it soon, so any tips would be appreciated
