1. Restart your computer.
2. Check your user privileges by right-clicking on the Terraria executable then going to Properties.
3. Check you have properly installed Terraria by right-clicking the game in your library, going to Properties then Local Files then “Verify Integrity of Game Files”.
4. Check you actually own a copy of Terraria(you may be playing through a Shared Library or may be using a pirated or otherwise illicitly-gained copy — not that I have a problem with either of those).
5. Check if you have a non-Steam version of Tmodloader installed onto your copy of Terraria(if you do, first back up anything vanilla then delete your Tmodloader).
6. Check if Terraria is being blocked by an antivirus(if so, check your Antivirus settings and unblock Terraria).
7. Check if Steam is behaving properly(sometimes, Steam will auto-launch as Steam 32Bit, which is problematic for users on 64Bit computers as it often prevents use of 64Bit programs — something Terraria is).
8. Open File Explorer, then open Task Manager, then right-click on File Explorer(some versions of Windows may recognise it as Explorer.exe)and click “Restart”.
9. Force-boot the Terraria executable by opening Run and entering “<yourdriveletter>:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Terraria\Terraria.exe” if you installed Terraria on the same drive as Steam or entering “<yourdriveletter>:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Terraria\Terraria.exe” if you installed Terraria on a different drive,
10. Uninstall and reinstall Terraria.
11. Back up EVERYTHING IMPORTANT to the cloud then uninstall and reinstall Steam. Once you’re done, sign back in(you may need to disarm Steam Mobile Authenticator)then reinstall Terraria.
2. Check your user privileges.
4. Check you purchased your copy through Steam instead of through a shared library or piracy site.
5. Check if you have a non-Steam copy of tModLoader installed on top of Terraria.
6. Check if Terraria is being blocked by an antivirus.
7. Check if Steam is booting in 32bit(if so, there should be a setting in Task Manager or Steam itself to stop it from doing that).
8. Restart File Explorer.
9. Force-boot Terraria in Run.
11. Back up EVERYTHING IMPORTANT then uninstall and reinstall Steam.
