I'm having a problem getting the exotic scimitar from the dye trader, I've killed him 50+ and still no drops. I'm I doing something wrong or is just extremely bad luck? 12.5% drop chance is a big number but nothing happens when killed. I've used some torture mechanisms like lava, boulder statues, dart traps and cactus but isn't working. All the npcs have dropped their respective weapon or vanity really easy but the dye trader is the only one not dropping the sword.

Yeah, the poor man doesn't even want to spawn anymore because his life resume to death till the end of the days.
