Pylons not selling?
I have a Merchant, Nurse, and Arms dealer in a big house together. I also have the Goblin Tinkerer and the Dye Trader in an underground snow biome home.

I've been literally waiting for 3 ingame days, no pylon, what's going on?
Is this a bug?

There are some issues with happiness values rounding that may cause some NPCs to not even sell Pylons when they should.

Gotta wait for the hotfix or use different npcs to get certain pylons.

the thing is they need to be in specific biomes...

dye trader, nurse, and arms dealer go to desert. merchant goes in forest. goblin tinkerer goes in tundra

When the NPC has a price modifier of 85%
The Merchant is in his liked biome, the Forest, which provides 94%.

Let's focus on the forest for now:
I have the Merchant, Nurse, and Armsdealer. Merchant likes the Nurse (liked NPC) and is in the forest biome.
He should sell it, but he doesn't. So what's going on?

Well i have the same problem, before the update the zoologist was selling pylons, she is in the forest, alone and i could have it, now i can't, the same goes for the merchant, he is in the forest, with the nurse, talks about how he likes the forest and the nurse, so his happines should be 100% and he isn't selling pylons for some reason

im pretty sure you need more npc's he likes more npc's around.

if you put the nurse and arms dealer together the arms dealer will sell any pylon excluding mushroom and universal

but you can't have all of them together as crowding will decrease the happiness and he won't sell and the range of a town was increased so you will have to move the arms dealer and nurse separately by themselves
i had that problem earlier ,but with no reason,i had arms dealer and dye trader in desert ,guide ,merchant and zoologist in forest and the bomb guy in underground,but no one sells the py

I'm doing some NPC planning, myself, and so far this is what I've got for the forest:

Golfer + Zoologist -> Forest + Guide (likes Zoologist)

I figure I will have the Golfer and Zoologist in the same building and the Guide about 25 tiles or so away in another building. The Golfer doesn't explicitly hate or dislike the Guide and the Guide doesn't dislike or hate the Golfer but it remains to be seen whether or not their disposition will fall if they are closer than 25 tiles.

For the desert I have:

Arms Dealer + Nurse -> Hallowed desert + Dye Trader (likes Arms Dealer)

Note that the Nurse likes Hallow and the Arms Dealer likes the desert so, when comes hardmode and the desert they are in becomes Hallowed, they will both be happy. Though, again, I am not sure if the Dye Trader being closer than 25 tiles to the Nurse will cause any issues.

For the snow biome I have:

Goblin Tinkerer + Mechanic -> Underground Snow

What I plan to do here is find the depth in which the surface becomes underground, then make a single building with a room above the underground for the Mechanic and below for the Goblin Tinkerer. Other neighbors haven't been planned yet.

For the underground I have:

Demolitionist + Tavernkeep -> Underground Hallow

These two both love each other, apparently. They will start off in pre-hardmode in a normal cavern base, then hopefully it will become Hallowed and both of them should be happy.

For the jungle I have:

Witch Doctor + Dryad -> Jungle + Painter (loves Dryad)

The Painter + Dryad exploit introduced in 1.4 has been fixed in 1.4.1 so that the Dryad no longer loves the Painter but the Dryad and Witch Doctor still like each other so the Painter will be a neighbor.

There are of course all of the other NPC's to figure out and a lot of them may become hermits. The Merchant in particular is proving to be very tricky to match so - for the time being - he will probably be a hermit.
