The amount of Mythril required for a pickaxe is fairly minimal at just 15 bars. It shouldn’t take you more than 30 minutes to mine enough to craft one, and it would likely take you at least that much time to find a trade partner here.

If you want my advice, it’s probably best for you to just lumber down into the caverns, drink a Spelunker Potion, and mine the Mythril yourself.
