How do i defeat plantera on expert?

I'm trying to defeat plantera on expert, my arena is big enough, i have the dryad and the nurse in my arena, but i can't do the 2nd stage, can anyone offer me tips?

Eat food that grants 'major improvements'. Put up health lanterns, and equip yourself corropsonding to your 'class'.

Try to get chlorophyte gear. Fight tier 2 of the Old One's Army. There is a weapon you can get called the Sleepy Octopod. It has a second ability that is really useful against Planters.

Also, yoyos. You can make the Yoyo Bag now, I believe. The Travelling Merchant sells a yoyo called the Code 2 or Code II that is really good. Or you can get an Amarok or Hel-fire. Make sure you have a Warrior's Emblem to increase the damage further.

Make sure you have all health buffs: Major food, campfire, heart lantern, honey. If you have money to spare, try going full warding prefixes or damage. Ultimately, trial and error. Best of luck!

I usually go with a with a large arena way underground (like lavaish depth) then dig a tunnel to the surface of the jungle thats like 4-8 blocks wide. You're gonna want to fight plantera's first phase in the underground arena, then whe she goes to the second phase start slowly going up the tunnel while using whatever weapon from above, usually a flying mount helps a lot, but its still reasonably possible with just wings and a hook + a few platforms to land on. (obviously your're gonna want the buffs and such in the main arena plus in the tunnel if youve got time.)


EDIT: video describing what I just said (yes I know its master but its bascially the same as expert just tougher. Since you wont have the black spot mount a good pair of wings + hook would work just as good)

I usually end up making a large circular arena that I can kite it around.

Its not really the 1st stage that i struggle on, its the 2nd one with plantera's tentacles on the hooks being really hard to avoid, tips on getting past her 2nd stage would be nice. thanks!

Shield Of Cthulhu. That will give you more horizontal mobility.

And you should have some faster wings as well. Frozen Wings or Flame Wings should do.

Thanks for all of the suggestions and tips, i finally beat plantera on expert! for any of you wondering, i used a megashark with crystal bullets, and full hallowed armor, all of your posts helped massively!
