is there a way to stop solar eclipses

There is no way to stop them. If you talking about being right in the middle of a Lunar Event when you say you are almost to Moon Lord, then the monster spawns of the pillars overrides the spawns of the Solar Eclipse.

what are you up to?
because they are more freqent during spacific points of the game. such as after beating the moonlord

There is no way to prevent it, but you can skip the event with an ench sundial, but then you have to wait 7 ingame days to skip again...
