How much time does each night lasts?

Haven't played this game in a long time and now I started a new game in expert and after probably 10 minutes it's still night

You can craft a gold watch from a few gold bars and a chain at a table and chair and that should let you tell the time down to the second. You can then compare that with real time to see how long each day and night should last. Watches are very handy when you are having trouble telling when a long night is going to end or a day will end so that you have enough time to hide out in the early game.
